Since the tips apparently go to a non profit and not the employees, they are less inclined to worry about annoying and distracting you by blasting music and YouTube across the room. There's a tall ceiling, so everything echos.
Hidden among the odds and ends shops in downtown Winchester is the Cairn. It's food and coffee are pricey for the area, but it might just be worth it if you have a moment to sit down and enjoy the detail and warmth of its upscale interior.

Met all my expectations for a great cafe: cozy, varied decor, good music low enough to talk over, delicious salad (and the rest of the food looked wonderful), good coffee, and very reasonable prices.
Quaint, charming place, good food, attentive staff, and all for a purpose. Highly recommend.
